I have just gotten a post from a friend of mine about motosport that I thought looked interesting. If you want to see more visit his Enigin blog!
I got into motorsport pretty early in life due in the main to the antics of my father who was a very keen motocross follower. In the late 50s and 60s the Lampkin family were as strong then as they have been over the last couple of years. This was also the time when at the likes of the British MotoCross Gp the commentary would be handled by the now famous Murray Walker who himself was a very keen follower of motorsport. I had the pleasure of meeting him, although I cannot remember the circumstances or content of conversation, at the 1963 GP at Hawkstone Park in Shropshire. The ironic thing is that who would have thought that many years later I would actually have the pleasure of meeting him again over 3 consecutive years at F1 GP at Silverstone in 1988/89/90 when I was involved in the Safety and Medical Services to motorsport as a Rescue Crew, Team Leader.
